Justin Bieber has responded with humor to a touching prayer that his mother, Pattie Mallette, posted on Instagram on September 22. In a long post alongside several photos of her son, she publicly expressed her faith and prayers for healing and protection for the 31-year-old singer.
“I declare freedom, strength, clarity and healing upon you, Justin. Every chain of fear, confusion and pain, broken in the name of Jesus,” she wrote. “Heal every wound in his heart, mind and body, visible and invisible… Fill him with your love and comfort.”
But Bieber's reaction came with a dose of irony: "The only thing I need to heal from is my little toe, wrinkled from playing ping-pong," he commented on the post.
Meanwhile, two days before his mother's prayer, Bieber had shared another post on Instagram, where he spoke about the importance of faith in dealing with fame and ego: "Jesus becomes the prize. And growth becomes something you want because of the grace you've received."
Justin recently released his new album, "Swag II," which includes songs like "Story of God" and "Everything Hallelujah." In the music video for "Speed Demon," he appears wearing a T-shirt that says "Pray for Me."
Meanwhile, Justin and his wife, Hailey Bieber, have just celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary, while sources close to the couple say they are closer than ever, following the birth of their son Jack Blues.
