A post by actor Mark Hamill on social media has caused a strong reaction from the White House, after it shared an image of US President Donald Trump in a graphically created scene, next to a grave with symbolic inscriptions.
In the photo, Trump appeared with his eyes closed and lying next to a tombstone displaying a date and inscriptions signifying his death, while the image was accompanied by the word "blessed."
In an official response, the White House communications account described the post as inappropriate and dangerous, linking the language used in it to previous political tensions and incidents against the president.
Hamill later deleted the post and responded with an apology, clarifying that his intention was not to suggest death, but to express a critical political stance, while acknowledging that the image could have been interpreted as inappropriate.
The event has reignited debates about the limits of humor and satire on social media, especially when high-ranking political figures are involved.
