Singer Jessie J has revealed that three months ago she was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). In a post on Instagram, the 36-year-old singer said that these mental disorders had made her "reevaluate" her whole life.
In her post, she said there were times when she felt like she couldn't discuss her conditions, but she said now was the right time. "That's what I'm talking about," she characteristically declared.
The world-famous singer, who gave birth to her son Sky Safir Cornish Colman last year, said the toddler had "exposed" the difficulties "a lot more".
"I knew it to a certain extent, but having a child exposed it a lot more, which was comforting in a way, because it made it feel less scary," she said.
ADHD is a condition that affects people's behavior. This can make sufferers seem restless, they may have trouble concentrating and they may act on impulse. OCD is a mental health condition where a person has obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
