The US is using strong diplomatic and economic methods to cut Vietnam off from China's technological influence...
The United States has launched a direct offensive against China in Asia, demanding that Vietnam immediately abandon Chinese technologies, especially Huawei and ZTE. According to a Reuters report, Washington has offered billions of dollars in investment and access to American technology, with one clear condition: the removal of any Chinese infrastructure from 5G networks and state data systems.
In return, Vietnam will be brought into the US “safe zone,” with its data servers being transferred to Amazon and Microsoft, and with the construction of a giant chip manufacturing center. But behind this “partnership” lies a harsh reality: American pressure is replacing Chinese influence with a new dependence; that of American corporations and the Pentagon’s strategic interests.
Experts see this as a new form of digital colonialism, where small countries no longer have control over data, technology, or digital sovereignty.
Vietnam is the first. But the model is spreading. Who's next?
