Salt Bae, whose name is Nusret Gökçe, has made a touching account of his life, starting from poverty to global success. During an interview for 'Corriere Della Sera', he said that the family was very poor, and that meat, now his specialty, was missing from the family tables.
"At the age of 13, when I started working in the butcher shop, I saw my first steak. In my house we never saw meat, we were so poor that there was only a slice of bread and a tomato on the table. My first day of work was at a butcher shop in Istanbul 50 kilometers from home. I was 13 years old and working from 6 am to midnight. I slept on an armchair inside the shop. I am an entrepreneur who works every day for 26 years, the first to arrive and the last to leave. I never took a vacation, I don't sleep much at night. Business never sleeps."
He is already a successful entrepreneur with 32 restaurants and 4,000 employees.
"It's something that comes from the heart, my seal. A bit like Ronaldo when he goes "suuuu" after the goal. I became popular because I changed the food industry and my aspirations: before me, being a butcher had no appeal. Who wanted to marry a butcher? Children wanted to be lawyers or astronauts: now they dream of Nusret".
Regarding his private life, he revealed that he prefers to be single, as his routine is very busy and that he does not have time for a couple life. Among other things, he prefers to live a life of luxury.
"By the time I was 20, I was wearing clothes and shoes two sizes bigger than I got from the charity. Today I want luxury. Yes, I am single. I have a very busy life for the couple."
Nusreti revealed that he has already bought a villa for his parents, he also wants to make a documentary about his life.
"The parents do not know how to read, one day they said to me: "Explain to us what is happening"? I bought him a villa in Pasali. I would like to make a documentary about my life. I think it can inspire people. If you are not happy, you cannot be successful: you must forget about yesterday and focus on the present, learning from the past", concluded Nusret Gökçe.
