However, the reality is quite different.
This is simply a hoax that has been circulating for years and that periodically goes viral again.
The last time it was discussed on Twitter was in 2021, when there was talk of adding a third icon that would turn blue when a screenshot was pinned. This innovation was said to be done to protect users' privacy, but it would still have alarmed those who, in order to preserve conversations and content in the gallery, are used to "pinning the screen" without the knowledge of the interlocutor.
However, there is nothing official. Even the information that speaks of a possible test in a beta version, released only to a few users to verify the new features of the application, has not been confirmed.
There are currently only two check marks on WhatsApp. The first is gray and appears when you send the message. The second, when the recipient sees the message, both lines turn blue.
