The well-known singer, Rita Ora has reacted to her viral video with the Serbian flag in her arms, an action that caused anger and many negative comments from her fans in Albanian lands.
In a statement to the media, the singer clarified her much-commented action, saying that the flag was given to her by a fan and because of the lighting on stage, she did not understand which country the flag represented.
Rita Ora has stated that she initially thought that the flag belonged to Hungary, the country where she was performing.
Further, she said that she realized that the flag was Serbian, only after she left the stage. Rita said that she is a proud Albanian and that her goal was not to disrespect her people.
"Last night while performing at the SZIN Festival in Hungary, I was given a flag by a young fan. From the lighting directly in my eyes and on the stage, I could not clearly see which country the flag represented. As soon as I left the stage, I realized that it was a Serbian flag and not a Hungarian one. While I support all my fans, from all countries and cultures, I want to make it very clear that I am a proud Kosovar Albanian, and that was not my intention. not to respect my heritage, or to upset my people or my family", Rita continued.
