Italy were ignominiously eliminated from the European Championship as they were beaten 2-0 by Switzerland in a challenge totally dominated by the Swiss, with Spalletti's side almost non-existent on the pitch.
Based on this fact, the Italian media wasted no time to "massacre" their national team, calling this elimination a disaster.
