The Legal Commission of the French League "LFP" has decided in favor of Kylian Mbappé and has ordered PSG to pay him 55 million euros in bonuses and wages for the months of April, May and June that the player had requested.
A day after the confrontation between the lawyers of both parties, the legal body of the French League has agreed with the striker of Real Madrid.
This Wednesday, the LFP had asked Kylian Mbappé to sign a settlement agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to avoid referring the case to court. The LFP Legal Commission, however, has ruled, after the French captain rejected the proposal, that PSG must pay him the 55 million euros he has been demanding since June.
Now, PSG can appeal the decision, but what is clear is that Mbappé was right, at least for the LFP Legal Commission. The Parisian club are surprised by the footballer's decision not to seek a reconciliation deal after signing him to a landmark contract in 2022, in addition to recalling his verbal commitment to Al Khelaïfi in August, which is believed to have been ratified by the Bondy star after the French Super.
If PSG does not comply with the LFP decision, Mbappé will have the right to take the procedure to the Labor Court to demand that his former team pay 55 million euros. The decision of the Legal Commission is binding, so, not surprisingly, the court process should not have further legal consequences.
PSG's reaction
After learning the decision of the Legal Commission of the LFP, "AS" contacted the PSG, which states as follows:
"After hearing the parties' arguments this Wednesday, the Commission repeatedly insisted on mediation between Paris Saint- Germain and the player to find a compromise in the light of PSG's favorable arguments. This mediation process has been rejected by the player, contrary to the recommendation of the Commission.
As such, and in light of the limitations of the Commission's legal scope to make a full decision on this matter, the matter must now be contested in another legal forum, to which Paris Saint-Germain is happy to submit its all the following facts. In fact and in law, the player has made clear and reiterated the public and private commitments that must be respected, as the Club has provided him with unprecedented benefits over 7 years in Paris, and the Club hopes that these will be upheld in the appropriate forum if the player attempts to continue with this incomprehensible matter harmful to his reputation" , it was said in the statement of PSG to the magazine "AS".
