Accusations of tax evasion and the request for a sentence of 4 years and nine

Carlo Ancelotti has decided to go to court to defend himself against accusations of financial fraud. He does not accept the plea deal.

Spanish prosecutors have charged Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti with alleged tax fraud, alleging he used shell companies to hide some of his income during his first spell at the Galactic club a decade ago.

The Prosecutor's Office said in a statement that it was charging Ancelotti with two counts of tax fraud that would have been punishable by four years and nine months in prison. Spanish magistrates accused the Italian coach of fraud of 1 million euros in 2014 and 2015.

The prosecution claims that in that period, Ancelotti only declared the income received from Real Madrid and did not declare the income derived from image rights. They accused him of creating a "confusing" system of shell companies to hide his extra income.

Ancelotti, 64, coached Real Madrid from 2013 to 2015 before joining the club in 2021. He is one of the most successful managers in modern football.
