
Tonight, in Lublin, Poland, the match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League between Dynamo Kyiv and Glasgow Rangers will take place. But before the match, a strange scandal was recorded, where the referees were the protagonists, assigned to be in the VAR system.
Bartosz Frankovski and Tomasz Musial respectively. The judges were stopped by the police in Lublin around 02:00.
The reason is quite unusual. A police patrol stopped the judges in a drunken state, as they had stolen a road sign.
Frankovski, who was to act as a VAR referee, was found to have approximately 1.7 ppm of alcohol in his blood, while his assistant Musial had a higher blood alcohol content of 1.8 ppm.
Both judges are now in trouble, as they are accused of destroying the road infrastructure, because of the sign they stole while drunk.
It is also unlikely that they will be at today's meeting in Lublin. They are no longer listed as VAR referees on the UEFA website. There have been many internet memes about this event:
