The President of the Albanian Football Federation Armand Duka was invited to the show "Good Morning Stars", moderated by Arbana Osmani.
In the interview published by the football institution, Duka clearly states that he wants a national team between Albania and Kosovo, but this currently seems impossible.
Duka said that Albania has a better team, but the Dardanians have made major achievements in a very short time. The head of football in Albania also touched on the elections for president of the Albanian Football Association in 2026. It seems that Duka, after 23 years at the head of this institution, will compete alone again, as so far no one has come forward.
Finally, a question for Igli Taren, Milan's sporting director who has extensive experience in international football.
What does it make you feel to be a "Kosovo representative"? They have a good team. Some of them have also played for the Albanian national team. Rrahmani, Rashica, Muriqi.
Albania or Kosovo? We are better than Kosovo. But Kosovo has good players, it is in the play-offs. In such a short history, with so little experience, going to the play-offs is a great success and it is a moment that they should live and continue to aim for the World Cup.
Should we have a National Team? We should have a National Team? But this does not depend on me or you. I think so, but we have nothing in our hands. As long as we are two states with one nation, we will have two teams, two championships. If we are together we are a bigger country, we have more potential, we are a bigger market. In all aspects it is better I think, not only in football.
Does Igli think of Taren as President? Anyone can think of doing any kind of position, not just president. With the experience he has gained in managing football there, he can bring it to Albania. Whether in the federation, in a club or anywhere else. The Football Federation is a very broad activity.
It only seems like a Superior Category championship, but today the Albanian Football Association organizes 600 matches a week, where around 4,000 officials are activated. But these are not managed only with fingers, money is also needed. Money must be produced, an economy must be produced.
