During a discussion about the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, journalist Alban Xhihani expressed his confidence in the Albanian National Team, despite the failure in the Nations League.
He emphasized that, after participating in the European Championship, Albanians view it with optimism and have high expectations from the National Team.
"All Albanians believe in the National Team which comes after participating in the European Championship," said Xhihani in the Max Sport studio on Euronews Albania.
Regarding the failure in the Nations League, he said that elimination with 7 points was a result that does not happen often in any group, but that there were still some mistakes.
"Of course I wasn't happy because we raised the bar and I could call it a mistake that a player who wasn't in shape was activated," he added.
The journalist also commented on the hottest challenge for the national team, the one against Serbia, describing it as an ideal opportunity to get motivated.
"As for Serbia, it's the best match to get motivated and play against an opponent who, despite being better than us on paper, emotionally could be something that suits us," said Cihani.
