Ertjan Kofsha lifts 161 kg in the snatch and breaks the European weightlifting

Albanian weightlifter Ertjan Kofsha has set a new European record. At the World Championships being held in Forde, Norway, the 20-year-old from Strmeni lifted 161 kilograms in the snatch style, in the C Battery of the 94-kilogram weight class.

" With a spectacular lift of 161 kg in the snatch, our extraordinary athlete Ertjan Kofsha has broken the European record in the up to 94 kg category, during the World Weightlifting Championships for adults taking place in Forde, Norway ," announces the Albanian Weightlifting Federation.

Unfortunately, Kofsha failed all three tests in the clean and jerk, as he attempted 190 kilograms in the first. This detail caused him to not be ranked in two competitions, while we must wait for the conclusion of the B and A batteries to see where Kofsha will finally rank in the snatch.

However, the young athlete is seen as the future of Albanian weightlifting and this was also proven in this event. In addition to him, Albania was also represented in this tournament by Briken Calje and Erkand Qerimaj, with the latter not being at the height expected.
