Udine will host the 2025 European Super Cup between PSG and Tottenham, with FIGC president Gabriele Gravina confirming that it could be one of the stadiums for EURO 2032.
The single match takes place every year between the winners of the Champions League and the Europa League.
This year, there will also be Italian representatives on the field: Gianluigi Donnarumma with PSG, as well as the duo of Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogi with Tottenham.
UEFA has designated the "Stadio Friuli", otherwise known as the "Bluenergy Stadium" where Udinese plays in Serie A, as the host venue for the match to be played on Wednesday, August 13.
" I feel very proud to say that Italy will host the only match of the UEFA Super Cup for the first time and we are proud that it is happening here ," said Federation president Gravina at a press conference.
" What has been done here shows how important it is to invest in the organization of these events. We are also working on "EURO 2032", with the hope that Udine will also be part of it ."
Italy had initially intended to be the sole organizer of the "EURO 2032" tournament, but difficulties in securing enough stadiums in line with international standards led to it co-organizing it with Turkey.
