Max Verstappen with Red Bull won today the Italian Grand Prix in Formula 1, held at the Imola track. A race dominated from the first lap to the last by the Dutch pilot, who at the end suffered somewhat because of the tires.
In second place was the British Lando Norris with McLaren, while the podium is completed with monogasque Charles Leclerc with Ferrari (third). These three pilots started the race from these places and kept them until the end.
The leading drivers ran a linear race, without much overtaking, even with the same strategy. The end got interesting, with Verstappen and Norris closing within 1 second. After them were ranked Oscar Piastri with McLaren (fourth) and Carlos Sainz with Ferrari (fifth).
The two Mercedes cars were also ranked in the points zone with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in places 6-7. Sergio Perez with Red Bull, Lance Stroll with Aston Martin and Yuki Tsunoda with RB were then classified.
Ferrari failed to leave much of a mark in this race, where more was expected due to the innovations it had brought. It seems that McLaren is a step up, while Red Bull wins again but does not convince. Next race in a week in Monte Carlo.
