Dortmund started the new Bundesliga season with a point, after drawing 3-3 away to St. Pauli. In the match played at the “Millerntor-Stadium” in Hamburg, 6 goals were scored, including penalties and a red card. Serhu Girasi headed the yellow and blues ahead in the 34th minute, after Sabitzer’s cross. Five minutes later, Girasi had a golden chance to double the lead, but missed from the penalty spot. The first half ended 0-1 for Dortmund.
At the start of the second half, the home team equalised through Andreas Hountondji, who headed home a fantastic cross from teammate Danel Sinani. However, the Yellows did not give up and scored two quick goals through Anton in the 67th minute and Julian Brand, 7 minutes later.
The big surprise came in the last 5 minutes of regular time. First, the home team narrowed the deficit with Danel Sinani in the 86th minute and then, in the 89th minute, Erik Smith's super goal tied the score at 3-3.
