Players and staff of the Gambia national team have experienced moments of horror. The players and staff were traveling to Ivory Coast ahead of the start of the Africa Cup of Nations, but this flight has been cancelled.
According to the media, it is reported that after 9 minutes after the plane took off, the players fainted due to lack of oxygen. This has caused many players to lose consciousness for a few minutes, as an emergency landing was made and the plane returned to the airport where it left.
Former Manchester United player, Saidi Janko, was also on board the plane, who made a post on social networks, where he showed what had happened.

" Unacceptable. After traveling a total of 32 hours from Saudi Arabia to Gambia with long layovers in Istanbul and Casablanca, we had to fly from Gambia to Ivory Coast today for AFCON.
As soon as we entered the small plane that was rented to fly, we noticed the immense heat that made us sweat. We were assured by the crew that the air conditioning would kick in once we were in the sky.
The inhuman heat mixed with the ever-present lack of oxygen left many with severe headaches and extreme dizziness. Moreover, people began to fall into a deep sleep a few minutes after entering the plane ," Janko wrote.
" We could all have died. We all fell asleep quickly. Me too. I had brief dreams about how my life turned out ."
We almost got carbon monoxide poisoning. Another half hour of flight and we would all have died ", said Gambia's coach, Tom Saintfiet.
