Italian football has learned some terrible news today, as former famous footballer Celeste Pin has passed away. According to Italian media, he ended his life at the age of 64 in his home.
Celeste Pin was one of the most recognizable names in Italian football in the late 80s and early 90s, when he wore the jersey of Fiorentina and Verona. He was one of the most valued defenders in Serie A, and he retired from football in 1996. Since then, Pin has been a sports director and has also been involved in children's football.
Today, Italian media reported the sad news that he had taken his own life in his apartment in Florence at the age of 64 for reasons that have not yet been made public. A family member had been unable to contact him and had therefore requested the help of the police after receiving no response at the former footballer's apartment. After forcing open the door, Pin's lifeless body was found.
