Former Fiorentina striker Christian Rigano, who is known as one of the bombers of Serie B and Serie A, now works as a bricklayer. In an interview for "Corriere della Sera" , he says that after retiring from football, he returned to another job, building walls.
" Yes, it's me, Kristian Rigano," he says when his eyes meet the journalist's. – I know how to do two things in life: score goals and lay bricks (mason). So after I stopped playing, I went back to my boyhood job, before I became a professional footballer. There were seven brothers in the family. "My father, Vincenzo, who unfortunately did not have time to see me fulfill my dream as a footballer, as he was a fisherman. My mother raised us one by one, – says Rigano, who then launches an appeal to return to training as soon as possible. - I got two coaching licenses, I love football, but it is clear that I am not suitable for today's football, mainly made up of sponsors. I do not accept compromises. Of course, if the right offer comes, then I would be ready to go back to the bench ."
But why does he work as a bricklayer, out of trouble? Two marriages and four children. After retiring from the green field for a footballer, the most inevitable question arises: What now? "I'm waiting for your next question ," Rigano smiles. –
Yes, I won well and I am happy about it. However, throughout my career, I have earned as much as mid-level players today earn in two to three months. So, after football we have to go back to work ."
