Elina Xhengo, the athlete of Albanian origin who was born and competes for Greece, was crowned the European women's javelin champion last year in Munich, in the U-20 category in Tallinn and is now looking to complete another triple gold medal at the European U-23 in Espoo, Finland.
The 21-year-old athlete from Korça starts her campaign at the U-23 European Championships today.
Xhengo participates in the first qualifying group and with this year's record of 63.65 m, she has the best performance of the 19 competitors. The qualification limit for Sunday's final is 56.50m.
