On the eve of the very important challenge against Serbia, the coach of the Albanian National Team, Silvinjo, spoke about the state of the team, the absences and how the technical staff prepares for unexpected situations that may arise before the match.
In an interview for the show "Real Story", the Brazilian coach initially focused on Marash Kumbulla's injury, while also praising the two right-backs, Elseid Hysaj and Ivan Balliu, for their experience and readiness.
Although he admits that frequent activation at the club is important for the players' form, the coach emphasizes that at this moment he does not see it as an urgent problem, but more as an issue for the future.
Speaking about preparations in case of injuries or unexpected absences, Silvinjo showed the seriousness with which the technical staff treats every situation.
" Right. At first, Marashi was injured. We communicated with the medical staff. Things happen. Hysaj and Balliu are two right-wing players who have time in the national team, especially Hysaj who is one of the captains. Both have an important career. They are two players with a lot of experience in Serie A, one in Italy, the other in Spain. Two players with an important level, quite good, and who give a lot to the team.
It's an advantage for us that they're both ready, and that they can be managed very well. They come to us and they just need a little training, a little concentration to understand what we're looking for, and then it's very easy for them to go out on the pitch. They're mature, they're not young people who need to adapt. Of course, I'd like them to play more. The more they play, the better, but I don't think it's a problem right now.
If we talk about the future, okay, it's a problem. In a national team you can expect anything, it can happen that the day before the match three or four messages come in that a certain player is injured, someone is sick.
"I have a staff working around the clock on plan B, C, D. We have two or three players that we are monitoring. A few days ago I compiled a waiting list of 40 players or more to keep in mind just in case. We always hope not to have problems, but we do a deep monitoring of the players ," he said.
Albania will face Serbia in one of the most delicate matches of the World Cup qualifiers.
