After the end of the Albania-Luxembourg friendly match, midfielder Juljan Shehu spoke about the difficulties the team is going through in the process of adapting to the ideas of the new coach, Maran.
" When a new coach comes in, of course he has his own ideas and vision for the game. He chooses the players for the formation and the way the team should play. We have had very little time to adapt to these ideas and this vision. These are two completely different schemes from the ones we used before. We still need time to play according to coach Maran's vision ," Shehu declared.
Speaking about his role in the team, the midfielder emphasized that his main interest remains the success of the National Team, regardless of the minutes he plays on the field.
" For me, it's important that the national team wins, not whether I play from the first minute or come into the game later. I will give my best as long as I'm on the field ," he said.
Shehu also appeared optimistic about preparations ahead of future commitments, believing that the team will learn from these two losses.
" I believe we will be ready for September. Time is not abundant, but from these two matches we have understood where we need to improve. I hope we can correct the mistakes and perform better in the future ," said the footballer.
Asked if the coach had given a speech after the match, Shehu revealed that the coach had only shared a few brief comments with the team.
" There was no speech. He only told us two or three details, which I prefer to remain inside the dressing room ," he concluded.
