After five weeks without a win, Liverpool returned to the top three in today's match. The reigning Premier League champions needed just one half of the game to beat Newcastle 4-1.
The "Coals" were the first to find the advantage with a goal scored by Anthony Gordon in the 36th minute, with a beautiful right-footed shot inside the area, beating Alison Becker.
However, the Reds' reaction was quick and they equalized with Hugo Ekitike in the 41st minute. The Frenchman found the goal after a perfect assist from Florian Uirc.
Liverpool were not satisfied with that and after two minutes, it was Hugo Ekitike again who found the second goal, after an assist from Milos Kerkez's defense and the French striker showed all his class, sending the ball into the net.
In the 66th minute, after a perfect combination between Salah and Uirc, the German sent the ball into the net with a beautiful shot inside the area with his right foot.
Goal and assist for Uirc, the German star has finally started to show his skills. In the extra minutes there was time for the fourth goal, scored by Ibrahima Konate. The Frenchman scored after a corner kick and a mistake by the friendly goalkeeper Pope.
With this victory, Liverpool climbs to 5th place with 39 points, while Newcastle holds 10th place with 33 points.
