The World Cup group stage match between Scotland and Brazil, scheduled to take place in Miami, could face delays or interruptions due to a severe storm forecast for the area.

The challenge is scheduled to start at 00:00, coinciding with the period when meteorologists expect worsening weather conditions. If lightning strikes are recorded near the “Hard Rock Stadium”, organizers will be forced to implement safety protocols.

According to the rules in force, any lightning strike within a radius of approximately 13 kilometers from the stadium results in the immediate suspension of the match. The game can only be resumed after at least 15 minutes have passed since the last lightning strike, which can cause significant delays and force the teams to warm up again.

A similar precedent was recorded a few days ago in the France-Iraq match in Philadelphia, which was interrupted for nearly two hours due to severe weather conditions. During that time, fans were evacuated to safe areas, while players returned to the locker room until the situation improved.

Scotland coach Steve Clarke said his team was prepared for any eventuality. He stressed that the team had drawn up a plan to manage potential delays, acknowledging that implementing security measures could significantly extend waiting times.

In terms of the sporting aspect, Scotland needs at least one point to secure qualification for the knockout stage. Even in the event of a loss, the chances of advancement remain open, as the team can qualify as one of the best third-placed teams in the groups.
