On Sunday at lunchtime, the derby of the Italian capital between Lazio and Roma will take place. Lorik Cana, as a former player of the white and blue team, has gone back in time. The legendary captain of the Albanian national team fondly remembers Lazio's triumph over Roma in the 2013 Italian Cup final.
" The first memory that comes to mind is May 26 and the tearful eyes of the Lazio fans. We were aware of what that match meant for the people, as well as for the players who had never lifted a trophy before.
We started the season very strongly, then struggled in the winter, losing to Fenerbahçe in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. At the end of the season, we prepared for the cup final against Roma.
"Five days before the final we had dinner and drank a lot. Coach Petkovic did a great job preparing for that match ," Cana said.
