Fenerbahce were defeated 1-2 at home by Galatasaray in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup. The hosts scored twice in 15 minutes with Victor Osimhen scoring one of the goals from the penalty spot.
Mourinho's side pulled one back with a goal from Sebastian Szymanski late in the first half, but it was ruled a goal for offside. Despite the dubious footage circulating online, VAR ruled it legal.
The second half, apart from many yellow cards and three red cards at the end for both teams, two for Galatasaray, did not bring any change in the result. The red cards came as a result of a fight between the bench players of both teams. The police had to intervene and the situation calmed down.
At the end of the match, the two coaches, Jose Mourinho and Okan Buruk, become the protagonists. While the players, coach and staff of Galatasaray were celebrating their qualification for the semi-finals on the pitch, Mourinho did not like this and grabbed the opposing coach by the nose, causing him to fall to the pitch. The comical scene has gone viral.
