Skenderbeu-Tirana is one of the matches in Albania that has always produced aggression for more than a decade both on the playing field and in the stands.
These two teams faced each other in a friendly match played in Korça, but from what was produced on the field, it could not be called just such.
Until the 73rd minute of the meeting, it seemed that everything was going to normal, but at this moment, the "spark" that ignited everything happened. The cause was a collision between Tirana's defender, Gledi Mici, and Skenderbeu's midfielder, Mario Rabiu, after harsh interventions by the latter.
The confrontation between the two football players in question continued for a few moments, where the insults between Mic and Rabi became so strong that the main referee was forced to take them off the field with a red card. After this moment everything escalated.
At the time when Rabiu was heading to the tunnel to go to the dressing room, a member of the technical staff of Tirana approached him, asking him to account for his behavior on the field. The insults reached incalculable proportions, so much so that the two benches, as can be seen in the following video published by the local media, were involved in a massive fight.
Some fans also entered the field, while there were also those who threw water bottles or benches from the stands. Thanks to the timely intervention of the respective coaches and the technical staff of Skanderbeg, the situation was normalized, as Gentian Liçi was the one who took Mic with him to calm him down, so that he would not aggravate the situation any more. The match was stopped for a few minutes.
Meanwhile, for the next few minutes, the fans of Skënderbeu did not stop insulting their former footballer Gledi Mici, despite the attempt of the coach of Tirana, the corsair, Bledi Shkëmbi, or the sports director of Skënderbeu, Ardi Gjançi, to calm them down.
As for the result, Skënderbeu dominated most of the game, finding the net twice in the first half of the game with Bismark and Nikaj, while Tirana scored twice after the 80th minute with Ndreca and Ismajli, also due to of numerous changes, causing the meeting to end with the result 2-2.
