Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League today, after beating Brighton 2-0 at Anfield Road. Mohamed Salah was on the bench, but entered the field in the 26th minute, as a substitute for the injured Joe Gomez.
The Egyptian provided the assist for Hugo Ekitike's second goal, crossing from a corner kick. At the end of the match, Salah stayed on the pitch longer than anyone else, enjoying the long applause from the fans present at Anfield Road.
Immediately after this very nice gesture, some media outlets warn that Salah may have finally said goodbye to Liverpool fans today, before he gathers with Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations and may leave elsewhere in January, after the tense situation with coach Arne Slot and the club's management.
