The former footballer, Jakob Melis, who once played for Chelsea in the Champions League and earned thousands of pounds a week, is today in a serious condition. At the age of 32, Melis is homeless and has lost almost everything he had.
The young man who started his career in Chelsea's football academy no longer has a house, a car and no source of income.
For the past year and a half, he has depended on the kindness of family and friends who have offered him their household furniture to sleep in or given him money for a hotel room.
In an interview with a "Daily Mail" journalist, Melis described his daily life and the challenges he faces.
" Every day I think about where I can go. Although I have a family, I don't want to depend on them. I want to try to take care of myself. It has been difficult, but I try not to think about it too much and I try to move forward in life , "said Melis.
He emphasizes that the environment offers him support and understanding.
" The people around me only want the best for me and want to help me as much as they can. But they also have their own lives. They help me with money for a hotel or let me stay with them. You never think that this can happen to you in your life ", says Melis.
