Sergio Ramos was the protagonist in Monterrey's 6-2 defeat to Toluca in Liga MX.
This defeat squandered the opportunity for Monterrey to move closer to the top of the standings. In the 20th minute, Monterrey was awarded a penalty and Ramos attempted a “Panenka”, believing the goalkeeper would jump to the side.
It all went wrong for Ramos, who missed the worst penalty of his career. Trying to convert in spectacular fashion, Ramos failed miserably, as his Panenka penalty went straight into the hands of the goalkeeper.
If he had scored, Monterrey would have taken a 0-2 lead and the outcome of the match could have been different, but Ramos' team lost 6-2.
