Anis Mehmeti has left Bristol City. Manager Gerhard Struber had tried to act this week as if they were looking ahead to whether the Albanian striker would leave. Today, however, he did not hide his great disappointment. The Bristol manager had his say before Mehmeti was officially signed by Ipswich.
" I want to speak openly. I can tell you that Anisi is not included for tomorrow's match. Anisi is on his way for medical tests. He has a big offer on the table from another club, and it seems that Anisi will change direction. It's part of the game, we have to get used to it and that's the situation.
We know that Anisi was one of the most interesting players for the decisive moments and he developed really, really quickly in the last months, in a very interesting direction. That he finally has big offers, looking at his performances in the last five or six months, that's not a surprise to me.
On the one hand, it's great to see how our football is working and how interesting it is for other clubs, how the players are developing. On the other hand, it's certainly a pity that we lose one of our most interesting players at crucial moments.
"This is not the time to cry or complain about anything, it's more the time to push forward together, in typical Bristol City fashion. Where we are, and not waste too much time on things we can't change. It's not in my hands. We have to do everything that helps us, in the end, to win tomorrow and in the games to come ," the Bristol City coach said, among other things.
