British police have arrested a second person in connection with an alleged gun threat made against Tottenham player Destiny Udogi and a friend.
According to " SunSport ", the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in investigations that have been ongoing for more than two months.
The suspect, 41, was arrested in London on November 17. Although he was not arrested on specific firearms charges, the incident is linked to the September 6 incident in Barnet, North London. He has been released on bail while investigations continue.
A 31-year-old football agent was previously arrested on suspicion of brandishing a gun during the clash. He is also currently out on bail.
A source told SunSport: " This is a big step forward and shows how seriously the authorities are taking this issue ."
The 23-year-old defender, in an interview with "The Athletic", told how the event has shocked him and his family: " The club has given me incredible support and has been by my side every day. I am very grateful that they have done everything to keep me and my family safe ," he said.
Asked about the emotional impact of the incident, Udogi said: " Of course I was shocked. It's not something I would wish on anyone. It was a friend, but now we look forward ."
The defender joined Tottenham in 2022 from Udinese for around £18m and has 12 caps for the Italian national team.
Spurs coach Thomas Frenk also confirmed that the club has stood by the player: " It's a terrible situation. I can't say much because of the investigation, but we have done everything to support him ."
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: " A man has been arrested after a person in his 20s was threatened with a firearm in September. A second man, aged 41, was arrested on November 17 and has been released on bail while enquiries continue ."
