The championship title in North Macedonia is considered a matter for Albanians, as there are three main teams that are fighting hard to become champions. It is precisely about the three Albanian clubs, Struga Trim Lum, FC Shkupi and Shkëndija e Tetova.
The football team FC Skopje is revolted by the recent action of the municipality of Skopje, which seems not to support the Albanian club from the capital of North Macedonia. The support of the municipality seems to go only to the historical rivals, Vardar, so through a statement on the official website, FC Skopje has reacted by showing the reasons that led to this raising of the voice.
Here is the reason for this revolt, which FC Skopje presents through an official statement:
" We received the news that the City of Skopje offers financial assistance to football clubs in Skopje and we received this news with great pleasure and we appreciate the fact that the City of Skopje helps and supports the clubs that represent the city, contributing to cultural development. But what worried us and is not clear to us, is the fact that FC Skopje is the team which, in the last five years, has best represented the city in European competitions.
Even though we are a club that represents the country and not just the city, we are surprised why the City of Skopje did not see fit to allocate financial resources to our club. We ask if those who made this decision do not see FC Skopje as part of the city of Skopje or as a football club of North Macedonia?
We consider this attitude of the City of Skopje towards the citizens of Cair and our club in general to be quite discriminatory.
Maybe FC Skopje does not have political support, but everyone should know that FC Skopje never gives up on its goals and is a club that can survive on its own. However, we would like to tell those who have made this decision that they should correct their mistakes as soon as possible.
This discrimination brings only harm to everyone and no benefit. Everyone involved in this decision is responsible for this discrimination .
