Lewis Hamilton headlined the official tests in Hungary, with the British driver taking pole position, leaving behind Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.
The British Mercedes driver managed to take first place just 0.003 seconds faster than his Dutch Red Bull rival.
This is the first time for Lewis Hamilton to reach a "pole-position" since the race in Saudi Arabia in 2021, as it is pole number 104 in his career.
" I am very honored to be here. The team worked very hard ", said the British veteran.
So he will start tomorrow's race in Hungary from the first place, as he will have to face the fury of Vershtapen.
A good performance was made by the McLaren car, with both of its drivers, who were ranked on the second starting line, in places 3-4 with Norris and Piastri. The fifth place of the Chinese Zhou with Alfa Romeo was also a surprise, leaving behind Charles Leklerk with Ferrari (sixth). Botas, Alonso, Perez and Hulkenberg were also ranked in the "top-10".
The official tests today had some innovations, as the drivers were forced to use only hard tires in the first session, medium in the second and soft in the third. In the end the result had some surprises, such as the 15th place of Russell (Mercedes) and the 11th of Sainz (Ferrari).
