Cristiano Ronaldo is close to a record that no one would want. The Portugal captain currently holds the second place for the most offsides in World Cup history.

Ronaldo has 23 such cases. Only Robin van Persie is ahead of him, who has been caught offside 25 times.

The Portuguese has overtaken France's Thierry Henry, who finished with 22 offsides. So far in this World Cup, Ronaldo has been caught offside four times.

Portugal's next match will be against Croatia. Meanwhile, Portugal remains one of the contenders for the trophy.
