The war in the Middle East has now entered its fifth day, and the impact and fear have spread rapidly everywhere.
Iranian footballer Sara Didar was giving a press conference the day before her team's Asian Cup match against home team Australia, but what was noticeable was her attempt to "swallow" tears as she spoke about the situation in her country.
" We are all worried and sad about what has happened to Iran, our families in Iran and our loved ones, but I really hope that it is very good for our country, that we have good news ahead and I hope that my country is strong and alive ," the 21-year-old striker said.
The team's coach, Marzijeh Jafari, said: " The Iranian Australians here support us, we are very happy to have a place where all the people are united and supportive, and we really love them too and we will do our best to make them proud ."
She added that the players are all very worried about the people they have left behind at home, but were trying to give their best on the pitch as they focused on Thursday's second group stage match in the Gold Coast.
