On June 16, the decision of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) regarding the future of the "Final Four" format in the Albanian championship has not yet been made public.
According to previous reports by "Panorama Sport", this formula is expected to be removed, but so far there is no official position from the Albanian Football Association. As a result, the future of the competition scheme still remains unclear.
The President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, had stated that the decision on the format of the championship would be made within the first 15 days of June. However, the announced deadline has passed without an official announcement, while attention is now focused on the next meeting of the Executive Committee, where the final decision is expected to be made.
In the statement issued on May 31, Duka emphasized that several alternatives for organizing the championship will be considered.
" For the next edition, we will review what format we will have. We will decide this within the first 15 days of June. For the 2026-2027 season, there will be 10 teams. If there will be four phases or play-offs, we have engaged a specialized company that has designed the Champions League format and the future format of the national teams. We will consider all variants and make the decision in the Executive Committee ," declared the head of the Albanian Football Association.
The "Final Four" format has been applied for three consecutive seasons in Albanian football, during which period Egnatia managed to be declared champion.
Meanwhile, the new championship season is expected to start in September, giving clubs more time to prepare before the start of the competition.
