Lara Colturi has briefly left training in New Zealand for the World Ski Championships in October and the Olympic Games in Cortina in 2026. She has taken the long way to Tirana, where Report TV 'steals' a few moments from her short stay of just 1 day in the Albanian capital.
" I came to Tirana to get my license. I finally did it and I'm very happy ," Lara initially says.
Lara Colturi, the skier of Italian origin, who has given the red and black colors unimaginable results in skiing so far, now also owns the Albanian driving license. This is the second Albanian document after the passport, that 18-year-old Lara adds to her pocket. In the exclusive interview for Report TV during her short stay in Tirana, Lara Colturi tells us about the results above expectations of last season. Even though she started as a minor, Lara Colturi made extraordinary achievements, climbing 3 times to the podium.
" The last season was very fun, as I got very good results, which I really didn't expect. This happened thanks to the great work of my team, and now I will try to take a few more steps ," said the Albanian skier.
In February, for the first time, Lara Colturi will participate in the Winter Olympic Games, which have a special meaning for her.
" It means a lot to me because my mother was a champion in the 2002 Olympic Games. Of course, I have also spoken to the other athletes and we unanimously think it is something special. I will try to conceive of it as a normal World Cup and have as much fun as possible and give my best ," said Colturi, who turns 19 in a few days.
The skier shows that for her, the result is not the only objective.
" I don't want to focus only on the result. I want to enjoy skiing, be myself and not think about where I'm going to end up, " she said.
For Report TV, Lara confesses that she feels the support of Albanians, who have already increased their interest in the sport of skiing.
" Albanians have supported me a lot, especially on social networks. I have noticed that winter sports are now more popular in Albania and I feel very happy about this ," Colturi concluded.
Lara Colturi's new season, representing the red and black colors, will launch on October 25 in Austria.
