Lewis Hamilton has come out in support of the people of Gaza, calling for help and awareness. The Ferrari driver announced in an Instagram story to his 40 million followers that he has donated funds to three organizations that are "working tirelessly to help those in need."
" It's hard not to feel helpless in the face of such a great tragedy, but we cannot stand by and do nothing ," the British pilot wrote.
" There are some incredible organizations that are doing wonderful work to help the Palestinian people and they need funding to continue this work ," Hamilton continued.
The Ferrari driver further added: " The situation in Gaza is worsening day by day. In the last two years, over 10% of the population has been killed or injured, including tens of thousands of children, and this number continues to rise."
The latest onslaught on Gaza has forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes, while hospitals across the Strip are filled with the wounded and starving, due to the seemingly never-ending bombardment. Today a United Nations commission of inquiry described what is happening in Gaza as genocide. As human beings, we cannot stand by and allow this to continue, ” Hamilton concluded.
