Struga will not play its Conference League play-off game in Albania. It was the club itself which announced that with UEFA's approval, the match against Breidablik will be played at the Ohrid stadium.
During today, the AFL made "official" the development of the match in question next Thursday at the "Elbasan Arena", setting a time of 19:00 for its start.
The Struga-Breidablik challenge , valid for the play-off phase of the UEFA Conference League, will be played on August 24 at the "Elbasan Arena" stadium, at 19:00. The decision was made in consultation between UEFA, the Football Federation of North Macedonia and the Albanian Football Federation, as the Struga stadium did not meet the criteria of the European football government for matches of this stage. Also, no other stadium in North Macedonia currently meets UEFA's criteria and therefore it was agreed with the AFL that the first match of Struga will be played in Albania," the AFL announcement read .
However, Struga confirmed this afternoon that the situation was completely different and that there was a stadium that met the conditions and that was Ohrid, where they had played in the first round of the Champions League.
" We will play the first match of the "play-off" stage in the Conference League against the representative team of Iceland, Breidablik, in Ohrid. This is what UEFA has decided, despite the fact that there were many other options, such as the stadium of Strumica, or even that of "Elbasan Arena".
At the Ohrid stadium, the Struga Trim Lum team also held the first qualifying match of this edition in the Champions League against Zhalgiris, while we will again be hosts, this time in the "play-off" phase against the Icelandic team of Breidablik . The meeting in question in the program will be on August 24 starting at 5:00 p.m. , Struga clarified in her announcement.
