The 11th week of the Superior Category ended with strong emotions and spectacular upsets. Partizani recorded a great victory in Durrës against Teuta, triumphing 2-3 after a match where everything happened. The Durrës team started the match better, closing the first half with an advantage and having control of the game.
Everything changed in the second half when coach Kërnaja sent two players from the B team, Kontreras and Kola, onto the field, who brought about the upset. Kontreras scored twice in a few minutes, restoring hope for the Reds, while Teuta missed a penalty with Zela at the crucial moment. Then, despite Kontreras being sent off, Partizan won a penalty that was converted by Toma, sealing the big victory and three valuable points for morale and standings.
In the next challenge, Elbasan managed to defeat Egnatia with a minimum score of 1-0, a victory that lifted the yellow-blue team to the top of the table, alongside Vllaznia, with 23 points each.
After the match, Egnatia coach Edlir Tetova admitted that Jaime's red card changed the course of the game. "The red card upset our balance, because we had prepared the match well. After we were left with 10 players, it became difficult to maintain our balance. They tried to react, but without success," Tetova told RTSH Sport.
The Superliga is entering its most interesting phase; the rivalry at the top is fierce, while Partizan's victory could be a turning point for the defending champions.
