The atmosphere in the camp of the Egyptian national team has been disturbed by an incident that occurred at the hotel where the team is staying in Dallas, just a few hours before the important match against Australia in the 1/16 stage of the World Cup.
According to foreign media reports, there was a verbal argument in the hotel lobby between several local police officers, responsible for the security of the facility, and several members of the Egyptian delegation.
It all started when national team star Mahmud Hasan "Trezege" agreed to take a photo with a boy who had asked for a souvenir with the footballer.
At that moment, a member of the Egyptian delegation passed by an American police officer, who, according to witnesses quoted by the media, addressed him in a harsh tone, asking him to leave the area. This led to a brief exchange of remarks, creating tension among those present.
The situation calmed down within a few minutes and there was no escalation or other incidents.
However, the episode has left its mark on the atmosphere of the Egyptian team, which is now focused on the decisive challenge against Australia. The "Pharaohs" are aiming to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, while hoping that the incident remains just an isolated episode off the field of play.
