The list of national team players for the September matches is revealed...
The Albanian national football team will not be the same in September. One of the names expected to make history with the red and black jersey has turned his back.
Adrian Bajrami, the defender who grew up in the structures of the Albanian Football Association (AFHA) for years, has decided to leave Albania to play for Switzerland. The AFHA officially confirmed his departure, thus closing a hoped-for chapter for the future of the Albanian defense.
This decision has forced coach Silvinjo to urgently review the list. In place of Bajrami, defender Maldini Kacurri has been called up to the A team for the first time. He has been a regular for the U-17, U-19 and U-21 national teams, and is expected to join the Rossoneri at the training camp in Malaga.
Meanwhile, the injury to midfielder Ylber Ramadani has brought another change. Enis Çokaj, who plays in Greece with Levadiakos and has five appearances with the A National Team, has been called up in his place. A necessary return to keep the midfield stable in the two challenges that are expected to be decisive for Albania's progress.
But the changes don't stop there. Striker Ernest Muçi has withdrawn due to back problems. His place will be taken by Cristian Shpendi, another talent raised in the national team's youth teams, who is being called up for the first time by Silvinjo to represent the red and black colors at the highest level.
Silvinjo seems determined to inject new blood into the team. With sudden departures and injuries rocking the squad, the Brazilian coach of Albania faces a tough management test. It remains to be seen whether these moves will bear fruit on the pitch.
