The football world is in mourning! Diogo Jota, Liverpool's 28-year-old Portuguese striker, died this morning in an accident in Spain.
According to local authorities, the tragic accident occurred at kilometer 65 of the A-52 highway, near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria.
Diogo Jota was reportedly travelling in a car with his brother Andre, also a 26-year-old footballer, when the vehicle went off the road and burst into flames. As a result of the tragic accident, both brothers lost their lives.

Witnesses who called the 112 emergency number reported that the car was completely engulfed in flames, which then engulfed the surrounding vegetation, making the situation even more serious.
Diogo Jota joined Liverpool in 2020 from Wolverhampton for a fee of €44.7 million. Since then, he has made 182 appearances, scoring 65 goals and providing 26 assists.
With Liverpool, he won the Premier League in the 2024-25 season, as well as the FA Cup and League Cup in the 2021-22 season. He had previously played for Atlético Madrid, Porto and Wolves, becoming one of the most highly regarded strikers in Europe.
