"As long as I'm here, he won't be called up", Serbia coach

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic does not want to play for the Serbian national team. He made this clear to coach Dragan Stojkovic in a phone conversation.

" We spoke five times. He claimed that he is not mentally ready. As long as I am the coach, he will not be invited again," said Stojkovic and added : "You will agree, after five conversations, there is no need to talk about this topic anymore. No debate. I have no desire to convince anyone if they do not want to ," said the Serbia coach.

So Stojkovic went to America to talk to Kostic and Vlahovic, but did not meet with Milinkovic-Savic.

This has sparked much debate and discontent in Serbia, as Serbs wonder how it is possible that Stojkovic meets Kostic and Vlahovic, but does not speak closely with Milinkovic-Savic, who played an impressive match and eliminated a team like Manchester City from the Club World Cup.
