Embarrassed by Slovakia, Nagelsmann: Germany didn't give any emotion,

The German national team had a disastrous start to their World Cup qualifying matches against Slovakia.

The match was an embarrassing performance for the German national team, which was unable to pose any threat to the Slovaks.

After the defeat, national team coach Julian Nagelsmann lost his temper in front of the ARD microphone and reprimanded his players. Meanwhile, he also has to face harsh criticism.

It wasn't necessarily the result that angered Nagelsmann, but the way it happened. "If you start with the very simple things, the emotionality, the opponent was simply miles ahead of us from the first minute to the last minute. That's a fact," Nagelsmann began his post-match analysis.

"If you look at our history over the last ten years, I don't know, it's not like we can come here full of confidence and say we're going to play everything at 80 percent," Nagelsmann continued. With that, the national team coach pointed to the weak point of a very talented team that didn't radiate any will or emotion.

This is not a new phenomenon, as Nagelsmann noted looking back at past tournaments: "it was no different in Qatar against smaller nations, it was no different at the European Championship against Hungary and not much different against Denmark (the round of 16 of the European Championship in 2024). If we can't properly understand this emotionality, then we can close the book," he said.
