The 49th Ordinary UEFA Congress gathered today in Belgrade the Presidents and General Secretaries of UEFA's 55 member associations.

During the congress, UEFA announced that Karl-Erik Nilsson, David Gill and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge have been named honorary members of the UEFA Executive Committee.

Election results

In the elections for the UEFA Executive Committee and the FIFA Council, the following candidates were elected:

UEFA Executive Committee (four-year term)

Gabriele Gravina (Italy) – re-elected

Lise Klaveness (Norway)

Marijan Kustić (Croatia)

Ari Lahti (Finland)

Armen Melikbekyan (Armenia)

Frank Paauw (Netherlands)

Aivar Pohlak (Estonia)

Hans-Joachim Watzke (Germany) – re-elected

UEFA Executive Committee (two-year term)

Rafael Louzan (Spain)

Moshe Zuares (Israel)

FIFA Council (four-year term)

Răzvan Burleanu (Romania) – re-elected

Georgios Koumas (Cyprus) – re-elected

Bernd Neuendorf (Germany) – re-elected

Dejan Savićević (Montenegro) – re-elected

Pascale Van Damme (Belgium) – female member

Also, Claudius Schäfer was ratified as the representative of the European Leagues on the UEFA Executive Committee for a four-year term.

Financial matters and annual report

The financial reports for the 2023/24 season and the budget for 2024/25 were presented, showing that UEFA continues to spread the success of its competitions throughout European football.

The Congress also approved UEFA's annual report for 2023/24, summarizing the new strategy in the different areas of modern football: competitions, development, sustainability and governance.

UEFA competitions and UEFA Women's EURO 2025

An analysis of the 2024/25 season was made, where the new league phase format was introduced for the first time in UEFA club competitions, which will also be implemented in the UEFA Women's Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, UEFA Events SA CEO Martin Kallen presented the progress of preparations for UEFA Women's EURO 2025, which will take place in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July, with the participation of 16 national teams.

As every year, the congress held a minute of silence in honor of European football figures who have passed away during the last year.

Finally, it was confirmed that the next UEFA Congress will be held on 12 February 2026 in Brussels, Belgium.
