Torino coach Baroni has answered journalists' questions regarding the departure of Albanian midfielder Kristjan Asllani from his team.
Asllani left Turin during the winter transfer window to continue his career at Besiktas, a decision that has sparked interest and discussion in the sports world. Baroni stressed that the player's departure was not due to any dissatisfaction or mistake on his part.
" Professionally, Asllani was a very good player and I liked him a lot. He didn't make any mistakes with us, on the contrary, he performed very well. Every time he entered the field, he made a positive contribution ," said the Torino coach.
However, according to Baron, the reason for his departure is related to the current needs of the team and the profile of players that the club aimed to have at that moment.
" He had some characteristics that didn't quite match what we needed at this stage. We wanted a player with other traits ," he added.
In this context, the coach confirmed that the club decided to invest more in another player.
" We chose to trust more in Ikhan, who for us is a promising player ," Baroni concluded.
The coach's statements confirm that Asllani's departure was a strategic choice and not a negative assessment of the Albanian midfielder's skills or professionalism.
