Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today with MPs and municipal directors. Rama spoke about the action taken by the government to demolish buildings without construction permits.
He stressed that there will be no more tolerance, adding that the history of build today, legalize tomorrow will no longer continue.
"We have undertaken this process, a process that aims to unite two things. We do not have a minute to waste because we have undertaken to enter the EU. We have undertaken to conclude the legalizations within 2028, which includes all the digitalization of maps. But let's not forget the condition that it will legalize in violation of the law and after the deadlines. The story of building to legalize tomorrow will no longer work and all those buildings built for profit, or any type of building built in violation of the public space of infrastructure projects, of protected areas will be leveled. There will be no tolerance, dialogue, no prohibitions in this process and for this reason it is important that all the teams of deputies who together received 83 mandates be close to the communities and on the side of the overwhelming majority of people who have been and are being hindered every day in their community life by those who bravely "Excessive, but also due to the turning a blind eye in many inspection forces on the ground, they have invaded public spaces.
